The only good experience was when the loan originator officer sold me the loan, and that was it. It went downhill from there. Communication was terrible. Many times I had to be the one checking in with them only to find out there was something missing that they needed. The title company they hired is ServiceLink and they are nothing short of incompetent. It took 3 MONTHS to finally close. I've closed for over a week now and the payoff STILL has not been made to my old mortgage company. They've given me the runaround so many times. There is no sense of urgency to resolve issues. And now I could be on the hook for 2 mortgage payments. Bring your business somewhere else.

AmeriSave Review for DeMara
Was very unhappy that we had to go through a second signing of the paperwork and that our loan was delayed. I know it was said that it was the title companies fault of not notifying you, but I think that maybe AmeriSave would have been interested in keeping on top of it before the signing expired. In the beginning of the process, it seemed like we were communicating with three different people, so it was confusing as to whom we were supposed to contact with concerns/questions. Also, there were so many times that we were sent a Closing Disclosure that kept getting changed. Very concerning. Also, when I asked today if our loan had gone through, I was told that I would have to ask the title company. Shouldn't AmeriSave know if our loan is complete or not? Aren't I supposed to send my payments to AmeriSave?

Great start, great end, not so fun middle
The whole process up to the closing was a breeze, Alberto Carlos Lummis (NMLS ID #1852380) far exceeded my expectations and was extremely attentive and helpful with any questions I had. When closing came, I got assigned, Chandra Ashley (NMLS ID #1168). I thought this process would be just as simple, and it definitely started that way, but it quickly went sour with lack of communication and understanding by Chandra. She sent out a blast of emails on day one saying how it's time to close, then nothing. I was suppose to close on a date decided as per a few email communications back and forth, mostly my own clarification with Chandra, but never got a confirmation of date and time that worked best for me and so I sat around in the middle of the day on the date I thought we were closing waiting to see if anyone showed up. Nothing. So, with no way to communicate to Chandra, she wasn't responsive by voice or email, I was left on ice waiting until I heard from her again. Three days later, finally heard from her again. We have a closing date... so, from here on, the process went smooth. Moral of the story, this wouldn't have been so bad if there was communication.

Excellent interest rate, fast preapproval, but a few hiccups along the way
AmeriSave had the best interest rate I could find. They were professional and responsive throughout most of the loan process. I experienced some issues with their website, but they were quickly resolved. I had to extend the closing date because there was a delay in receiving the final Closing Disclosure. And they also forgot to include my reward amount in the closing disclosure, which resulted in more delay and frustration.

Settlement fee raised $120 with no explanation - I’m still owed this money
Initial process was smooth. Then it went downhill. I was quoted a specific discount over the phone and text by Rodolfo which ended up being overstated by $600. My closing date was pushed by a week with essentially no notice and no delays on my end. I was later told Underwriting was behind which caused the delay but this was a reactive response and not proactively telling me. My settlement agent fee was $275 THE ENTIRE PROCESS THROUGH MULTIPLE REVISIONS OF THE CLOSING DISCLOSURE. Then on the last version of the CD the day before closing it went up to $395, no one could explain how it was $120 higher. Even ServiceLink told me it was STILL $275 on their end so they weren’t sure how AmeriSave changed it to $395.

The process from start to finish was not nearly as easy as previous mortage companies I've used in the past. The multiple emails requesting documents with not explanations or requests to us a certain type of document and you all not providing the documentation was frustrating. Easy to Refinance, Excellent Experience
It was time to refinance. We did the research, found the best rate, and called several companies. We chose AmeriSave and have been extremely pleased. The entire process - which still involved a lot of information gathering - was made simple with their online documentation system. In probably less than an hour I had gathered and submitted all of the necessary information. After reviewing some documents we were ready to go. As in any complex transaction there was a hick-up. AmeriSave quickly resolved the issue (a simple question of how the rate was locked) to everyone's satisfaction. They went above and beyond to make things right. Closing and funding - even with COVID concerns - was simple. Yes our hands were tired with all those signatures, but the money we saved was well worth it! I would recommend AmeriSave to anyone.

Proactive Communication Lacking
Everything was done competently and the refinancing was successful. However, their use of automated emails was quite annoying and unhelpful. Often we would get automated emails numerous days after a task was already completed but they had not updated their systems. If you reached out to clarify, they were always very timely in their response (which is great) but they were not timely in doing tasks that acknowledged whatever tasks turned off the next alert. Also, there was NO communication at the end of the process. It would have been a much better experience to get a message that said - hey, your loan has closed. Hey, here is what we paid off here and there. Here is how we spent the money you gave us. Thanks for being a new customer - anything to say that the process was now completed and payoffs had been made successfully. Again, if you reached out yourself and asked, they were timely in their response - but you shouldn't have to reach out and ask. Net Net, their pro-active communication is not great and needs a lot of improvement.

This was my second loan with Amerisave
This was my second loan with Amerisave. I was totally disappointed with the service I received. It seems like one area in the loan process doesn't communicate with the other. I got an FYI email, from the underwriter, stating the taxes weren't paid for last year. Could the lender please show proof. I had to get with the loan processor. She said you should never have gotten the email. Obviously, the underwriter thought it was a refinance. At the end of the process another FYI, email was forwarding to me, stating we couldn't close under our trust. Even though we just closed on another loan 45 days prior. I got with the loan processor again. She said she would take care of it. The underwriter wasn't familiar with the process dealing with trust. Another, issue I had was tracking of my large transfers from my savings account at Discover Bank to Bank of America. I understand the rule about money laundering. But all of the money had come into Bank of America from my monthly income, transferred to Discover then transferred back. I understand if it's new money. I shouldn't have to explain that money. Another issue was the fact that our date to close was Jan 4th, 2021. We had plenty of time to close on time, since this my second loan. My first property closed one day, and I applied for this loan the next day. The loan processor was on vacation from Christmas until January 4th. No one was assigned to take over her work load. I had to keep the seller informed of what was going on. If was embarrassing to report, I don't know where we stand. He was well within his right to cancel the contract, since the closing date was 4 Jan, 2021. We finally closed 14 Jan, 2021. That's 10 days after the target date. I feel that is totally unacceptable. The only bright spot to the loan process, was the loan processor, Jenni Downey. She was always on top of everything. Always kept me informed of what was going on. She made a conference call with our insurance to get something changed, to make sure it was done.

My husband and I refinanced our second home with Amerisave. My loan Officer Mohamed Ismail Ali(Mike) was an absolute gem to deal with. He was patient and worked with me to get me the best deal possible. I would have given Amerisave 5 stars but after the loan closed; there was money that was not used to close. First I was told I was getting the cash back.Then the title company told me that Amerisave would have to tell me what would be done with the money and it seemed forever before I could get a straight answer. The sum $688.15 was put back on the principal balance but it took Amerisave over a month after the closing to do it.

I had a great experience with my AmeriSave Mortgage refinance. My broker and main contact Timothy Apenbrinck was great. I communicated very early on in the process that my job did not allow me to communicate while working and Tim was very respectful of that fact. He would email or text me and then patiently wait until the evening or next day when I could respond. There was always good communication and questions were answered quickly. The closing agent who came to our house to execute loan docs was super; her name was Shai Bradshaw and she was very warm, polite, and efficient.
