6. Submit Documents. Some documents you may need to submit include mortgage statements, paystubs, 2 years of employment history, etc.

7. Close Your Loan. When you’re approved, LoanDepot will schedule a closing appointment at a time that works best for you.

If I could rate this company lower, I definitely would. They strung me along for a total of 8 weeks. I have never dealt with such a slow company. They lied to me every step of the way. They will tell you that you are approved, you pay to have the house appraised (which was not cheap) and then deny your loan. Absolute crooks. Deserve zero star review.

Loan depot literally ruined my ability…

Loan depot literally ruined my ability to buy a home for the next 2-3 years. This is the worst experience ever. I have 20 days to find a home for me and my children. I filled out an online preapproval application and was contacted by Yvonne Bobadillo. She was very upbeat and positive and after I provided all of the requested information she contacted me to discuss my application. She reviewed my credit report with me over the phone and asked me why with no late payments and a strong length of credit did I have Experian boost on my report of 4 bills. I explained I added it when I downloaded the app because the app suggested it. She told me that I should remove the 4 accounts because they were reducing the amount I could pay monthly on a mortgage. She also told me I should take out a new loan to pay of a personal loan on my credit because the personal loan payment was so high (1,100 but I only had 12 more payments and had chosen the high payment amount to pay it off quicker). She gave me a preapproval with desk underwriting and actually referred me to my agent who I got along well with. We finally got an offer accepted and I paid the appraisal fee, etc. she said the loan was approved and already underwritten. That we were good to remove contingencies. She sent me closing disclosures and I waited for my signing date. As our closing date came and went she said that the loan was approved, underwriters were satisfied, but a “system issue” was preventing me from signing and that she had all the area managers working on it to figure it out. My agent made an appointment with her manager to discuss the issue because the seller had begun charging us a daily fee for not closing. At that time he told her he didn’t know why I removed positive trade lines and paid off a two year old loan with perfect payment history for a new loan, but that had affected my credit dramatically and now the desk underwriting was kicking my loan out as high risk. She sent me an email with him saying the same. Luckily I had emails that showed Yvonne had actually told me to do this. He worked for a week trying to find a way to close the loan, but in the end I lost the house, my $8,000 earnest money deposit, and now have to go out and find someplace to rent with my credit literally in shambles. I can’t caution enough to be very careful using this company.

Highly incompetent

Absolute crooks

Absolute crooks. Deserve zero star review. They failed to process a payment due to a system error on their behalf and reported us to the credit bureaus without notice. Now they’re refusing to correct the error. Involving the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau as well as escalating with a private attorney. They are unethical. Avoid Loan Depot!!!!!!!!!!

Lack of communication and inefficient process

Lack of communication and process inefficiency prevail the whole loan application process. I wasn’t sure who to contact to understand the reason for process delay. My appraisal came back extremely low and felt the underwriter and loan processor probably gave up on the process already. They didn’t have good remediation plan to come up alternative. No communication was in place to discuss with underwriter. Appraisal review personnel was very rude and not in a mood to communicate while sat on info just letting time pass. I spent time compiling info for appraiser appeal. Appraiser said he couldn’t go higher on my property value than the unit last sold in my building which would be against underwriters’ rule. I wasn’t sure if underwriter was involved or not. The process relied too much on one single input - appraisal value, while overlooked all the other elements that qualified us as top tier borrowers. However none of these was taken into consideration before getting us loan rejection. Ideally, I would want to discuss with underwriter to understand the perspectives. The proposal was not being considered. Very disappointed about the appraisal company solicited and the review process. Bad communication and constant delay left a bad taste in the month. We lost $675 in appraisal and significant time invested going through appraiser appeal and check-ins. Word would spread so that Loandepot doesn’t have any business in our building. I have been a LoanDepot customer for years, I've always had a good experience with them, online, on the phone and customer service has been excellent. Integrity, transparency, and AFFORDABILITY!

This was our first time to try an online lender. We received several quotes and were shopping for not only the best interest rate but lower closing costs as well. We thought we had found someone until we mentioned how much closing would cost to our realtor. She cautioned us to keep shopping. Although it meant more hard pulls on our credit we figured it would be worth it. But before we had a chance to shop for more lenders, we received a call from Loan Depot. We spoke with Nicholas and told him the rate we were originally quoted. He said they would be happy to beat that price and then some. Nick was always patient and knowledgeable through the entire process and explained everything along the way. One of the best things about our experience with Nicholas and Loan Depot is that the figures, fees, and costs never varied after we selected the loan type we wanted - no surprises or sneaky tricks. It was completely transparent and any time we talked about numbers they matched up every time from their original quote. We've purchased several homes over the years and I would have to say this was one of the easiest loan processes we've been through. Integrity can be hard to find in the lending business but I would highly recommend Loan Depot and their loan officer Nicholas Anderson.

Poor service after the loan

The loan process was fine and easy. The problem started when Loan Depot sent the loan information to the Jefferson Co Indiana treasure instead of the recorder to be recorded. This happened 04-16-2021.I have called Loan Depot several times in May to try to resolve this. I spoke to 4 different associates on 5-11-2021. I called back on 5-12-2021 the Loan Depot associate gave me Servicing@loandepot and told me fo have the recorder to email with the loan number ending in 7861. The recorder is my neighbor I asked her to email loan depot she did on the 11th of May a generic response was received. I contacted the Loan Depot the associate told me the issue should be resolved. Its not. I need to get my mortgage exception for May taxes no one at Loan Depot cares.

Untrustworthy!

Untrustworthy- Numbers kept changing (always up), promises broken, poor communication, lack of organization. Took as many as 6 requests to fix wrong numbers. They didn’t even get the closing company spelled correctly. Final docs even had points slipped in! Chaos is a good word to describe my 5th home purchase! Complete failure and unorganized with a dash of apathy and lies. They were suddenly requesting paperwork less than 2 hours from the 3rd scheduled closing time after I had asked repeatedly if they needed anything else. And they always had some lame excuse. Avoid using this company at all costs.

My experience with Loan Depot started…

My experience with Loan Depot started out OK and devolved into total incompetence. I has a renovation mortgage and their staff never seemed to know what they were doing. Often ordering my contractors to amend my contracts with them to add work not required by the terms of the 203K mortgage program without my knowledge. The closing paperwork had to be redone thee times prior to the closing and then had to be redone AFTER the closing because they couldn't seem to get it right. They even delayed my closing the day before, claiming that the closing date was ALWAYS supposed to occur on the new date. They held fast to that claim until I made the staff member pull up a copy of the contract for sale which proved the original closing sate was the one agreed to by the parties. After closing, it devolved into total chaos. They don't accept electronic funds transfers from financial institutions after the first payment, so my bank has to send paper checks, they changed the mortgage number without telling anyone and then returned one of my on-time payments because the mortgage number on the check was incorrect and then charged me late fees. Fast forward a few months to the renewal of my homeowner's insurance and they ignored two renewal notices and 2 policy cancellation notices my insurance company mailed to the official address they and been given BY LOAD DEPOT!!!! And they ignored a renewal notice I uploaded to their system. When called, they claimed they have been trying to reach my insurance company to discuss the renewal for months without any success. This is another lie, as I have always been able to reached the company within a few minutes each time I have called. Basically, Loan Depot sounds nice on paper and in their ads, but is a highly disorganized and inefficient company that has horrible internal and external communications and their way of handling customer service issues is to try to convince the customer that they have done something wrong. Never, have I ever dealt with a mortgage company that expects the customer to straighten out their messes for them. STAY AWAY FORM THEM!!!!

Loandepot is currently just duping customers intentionally increasing the closing days more than 120 days and later on change the interest rates even though its locked up. I had to fight back to get the refunded for the lock in amount. I think they dont have the capital in hand to do the business. The customer service support is so worse. My frank opinion stay away from Loandepot

The loan depot doesn't understand the concept of communications. If you call their number you will get a pleasant voice telling you the person is at home. When you send emails they are ignored. When you use their touted portal no one responds to the message, and they do not bother to actually put anything into the todo's section to allow you to self serve to gather information. I should have gone with a different company as i am now 44 days into a refi process and they have now decided since they couldn't do their job, i now need to send more paperwork because tax day has passed. STAY AWAY FROM LOANDEPOT IF YOU WANT TO GET A REFINANCE COMPLETED!

Cannot Seem to Get It Right or Be Responsive

If you are looking for a refi loan, or likely any other type, do NOT try LoanDepot. My first refi with them went quite well some years ago, but the latest was a comedy of errors. First, I uploaded all the requested documents needed to get the application going only to be informed that the website does not work very well, so…please email. Later, my first loan processor requested specific tax documents which I provided, only to request the same documents a week later. Attention to detail seemed not to be their strength. After about 60 days of being in limbo, having emails and voice mails not responded to and direct phone lines not answered, the application appeared to be going nowhere despite my credit scores of 790+. I reached out to the only competent part of their organization, the Customer Success Team, and action picked up. However, the loan processor kept providing Closing Disclosures in which the original points being paid were unilaterally increased by $ 1150. It required two sets of management approvals to finally fix that, allegedly because two rate lock extensions were required. (Like it was my fault the loan application languished for 90 days.) Then, a closing date was proposed, but no one gave any confirmation it would happen. The notary arrived at my door, to my surprise, and he was provided the wrong Closing Disclosure. So, signed all the other documents, contacted the ever-diligent Customer Success Team, and finally settled the closing details on day 97 of the loan process. One might think this was the finish line, but it was not. In registering on the loan servicing site, the links were not working as they should, and two calls to Customer Service were required to get me to the correct site and to register. Except, when clicking the “Make a Payment” button to set up my first loan payment, it seems to not function. So…maybe I will make payments from my bank website. Not sure I could trust the LoanDepot site anyway.

Worst experience EVER

Worst experience EVER! These thieves pushed me into a corner, misrepresented the terms, and foot-drug until I started a major renovation project (based on THEIR advice - "go ahead, you don't need an appraisal,") then TOOK AN ADJACENT Property that secured a loan representing a "cash out" payment amount, and not the original, 1st lien deed of trust which was the subject loan for refinance.

Worst customer service, unreliable, unresponsive and very unprofessional.

They tried to change the rate on us last minute. They also submitted our documents last minute making us homeless for a week. To make matters worse, They never have time to call or talk to you and explain. They treated us like we were nothing! So disrespectful.and they kept forcing me to sign documents with so many mistakes including not even getting my names right!!!

I recently received a letter regarding my escrow account. I needed clarification. I called in and got the rudest customer service rep ever. She was on the phone huffing and puffing as if I was annoying her. She didn't even ask for my information to begin the process of addressing my matter. I started by saying I received a letter regarding my escrow account and I need clarification, her response was, "what does the letter say". I began to read off the letter and that is when I heard huffing and puffing so I addressed it. She then states, what are you talking about? As if I couldn't hear her through the phone. She then says, well first of all I have to get your name and loan number. I said, I wondered why you didn't ask for that info to begin with. You only asked what does the letter say. I gave her my name and she says, I have to put you on hold for two minutes after a minute the phone hung up. I had already been on hold for an hour. I just have this to say, If you don't like your job, then quit. You are not helping anyone or the company you represent, with a bad attitude. I hate it when you are invested in a company and then you find out later how horrible they are with customer service. My time is valuable. I don't like being jerked around.

I was chatting with a representative…

I was chatting with a representative and before I knew it he was calling me. No explanation of the process, just questions to complete the application. When I asked if my credit was going to be soft or hard pulled, he said I already run your credit. I told him I was not going to proceed with the process. That was 2 months ago, until this day I keep getting daily phone calls. Very annoying and disrespectful!

Over 100 days later - still no closing!

We started the refinance process on January 27, 2021. We immediately sent all documentation requested. Over the next three months we sent additional paperwork as previous items "timed out". Today I am told (over 100 days later) that we do not qualify as our assets are mainly land. I asked "why didn't someone tell us this on day one? our situation has not changed in the the last 3 months. Very disappointed and angry that we wasted our time and money on this. I would have just refinanced through our current company who are more than willing to do so - and saved myself 3 months of the higher interest rate I have been paying. Only saving grace was the representative who handled our case - she was wonderful.

I went online and ended up chatting with a loan officer. I ended up applying for a refinance loan and the officer asked some questions and I answered most of them and said I need to check on a few items and would then sent in the information needed. I had went ahead and locked in my rates for a 30 day period. I had then had a lot of issues with my work that I was to busy to answer the items he needed. And then within a week the loan officer was calling me 3 times a day texting me and emailing. I said I was busy for a bit and would get back to him. He did not stop, I sent him an email stating I did not like being badgered and would send in my info needed. So then he sent me a email that my loan was canceled. which was fine, I found a better deal and was done. I'm the customer and do not like being pressured. If you want to be pressured and cannot step back and take a look of what you loan is this is the place to go. I had a $269,000 balance of my house. I was going to take out $60,000 and refinance. My payment was $2163.00, with 17 years left would have paid $441,252.00 at my finish. his loan would have gave me the $60,000.00 but would have gave me another 13 more years to pay and costing a total of $681,480.00. So the good finance loan he told me would have cost me $240,228.00 to get $60,000.00, Thats what I would have got if I didn't research my numbers. WOW!! Thank you AGENT was MIME ABRAHAM
